I was really excited about getting this desktop charger. I had purchased an extended battery with my Q, so I had two batteries that I needed to make sure were kept charged. This was the perfect answer.
The problem came however when I received it and did not get a cable with it. Now I am sure that the store says something about it, however, one would expect that if they were ordering a “desktop CHARGER”, it would come with the CHARGER. But other than that, no complaints so far! Thanks!

You have to buy the power supply separately. Why the box says “Desktop Charger” is beyond me. Wish I’d seen this review before I spent $40 on it at the Verizon Wireless store. I’ll be taking it back for a refund.

Got this product, opened the box ready to charge and sync from work only to find out it did not come with a cable and the accessory port doesn’t match the cable that came with my Q making this product absolutely worthless. I now have to spend more money to get this product to work at all. I recommend finding something else to buy.

I guess this would just OK if you just wanted a charger and didn’t want to sync your Q with your PC, but if you want to do both (and who doesn’t?), its a terrible design, here’s why:
The base only has one connection (mini-USB), so you can’t plug in both the charger cord an a USB data cable at the same time. Yes, I know that the PC USB port will also charge the phone, but only while the PC is not sleeping. Also you must turn the phone OFF to have it charge from a USB port, otherwise it just “maintains” the current charge. And if you do turn it off, then it doesn’t SYNC. Then your PC goes into sleep mode and turns the power off to the USB port and guess what? The next day, dead battery!
My Treo charger is MUCH better (and somebody put some thought into it) because you can plug BOTH the data cable (for syncing) AND the power cable for charging into the back of the charger for the Treo. That way, it both syncs AND charges (even if your PC goes to sleep after syncing your data). This is just a DUMB motorola design.
One other option is plugging the charger into an outlet so that it does charge and syncing the Q using bluetooth, but if your PC doesn’t have bluetooth….
I’m hoping I can find another charger for this phone that does both. Anyway, NOT RECOMMENDED.
