This case has lasted longer than my iphone. I recently upgraded to the 3GS and kept the case – on its fourth year now. I have dropped my phone multiple times without disaster occuring so the protection is pretty good. I love the bright color because it is so easy to see in the dark interior of my purse. I can find it much more quickly when I leave it around the house too. The fake leather has come up a little, but I just push it back into place. My local store stopped carrying it so I am delighted to buy another as a back up.

I’ve had this case for 3 months, and it’s already broken. The “leather” looks very cheap like a piece of paper glued onto it. The pink is a BRIGHT pink (not as soft as it looks in the picture, think pepto bismal pink), and the bottom thin edge of the case is already cracked. I do NOT recommend this at all, and it’s not cheap.

FYI the case is a putrid brown on the edges whichc completely contrasts with the black screen of the iphone, and the pink is bright and fun.
I wish the edging were black and then this would be the ideal iphone case. I have had 3 of these, as I drop my phone on the hardest material from about 5 feet up on a regular basis, and after about 5 or 6 drops like this, a new case is required when the corner breaks. But better the case than my little beautiful baby iphone!!
It’s very slim for the protection it offers. Don’t think it will feel as thin as your iphone — that’s just ridiculous and impossible. It will be about 1.5 millimeters thicker on each side, and you’ll love it because it will protect you which is what you wanted, right? right.
If you don’t like the look of leather (which has to be adhered to plastic, duh) then don’t get it, plain and simple. Get the rubberized plastic version. griffin nu form or elan form (but not the one with the huge corners). If you get the slim profile one, be aware that if your phone drops on it’s top or bottom, it will not be protected because there is no lip across the top or bottom sections, kind of defeating the purpose a bit.

I like the Griffin Elan case, I have also had the Black Leather/Black Molding version. This item is Bright Pink Leather (much deeper shade than the item photo)/Brown Molding (not discernible in the photo).
I like the Elan because it comes with a hard plastic covering for the screen (but hard to place without getting airbubbles) that rests on top of the screen so it is not glued/stuck onto the iPhone. I also like that the case is secure around the phone that the Apple logo is not visible on the back. There is easy access to the docking site, but I do not know if it is compatible with a docking station without removing the bottom.
Unfortunately, the longer you own this product the weaker the glue holding the leather to the molding gets. IF you hold it for long periods of time, the glue will soften and the leather will slide along the molding. You can push it back into place, but this gets annoying after awhile.
Overall, I REALLY like the product but can only give it 3 stars due to the fact that you have to replace it about every 4-6 months.

Ordered this for my iPhone, it’s a plastic case with glued on pink “leather”. It looks really tacky and is definitely not the quality I was looking for. The leather is bunched up and rippled on some areas of the case. I’m sending it back.
